Broken Pelvis
We can help horses with Broken Pelvis. This is what we call “Floating”. This is one of the scenarios where we will fill the treadmill quite deep to help take the weight and concussion off of the horse and allow them just to move their body through the water. This helps support their entire body and can begin to help their body how to move without pain, strengthen muscles and encourage correct movement.
Range of Motion
We are able to target different degrees of Range of Motion (ROM) using the different water heights while working on the treadmill. Hock height is often a great way to get the most ROM. Keeping in mind every horse is an individual, we adjust the water height to accommodate each horses needs.
Any Age
Maybe you have a young horse that needs to strengthen up a bit before getting started.
Maybe you have a senior horse that needs a little extra help getting strength back after having a winter off.
Maybe your horse knows their job but does not need the daily schooling or impact on their joints.
Whatever the case, your horse could benefit from the Water Treadmill. It can give them a mental and physical break and give them the opportunity to come back refreshed.
Refresh Mentally
The Water Treadmill can give your horse the opportunity to refresh their mind. Once they are comfortable, you can see horses yawning, licking and chewing as well as playing in the water during their session. Some horses love to stick their nose in and play with their lips and tongue while you’ll see others pawing and making waves and splashes!
